Phragmipedium Jason Fisher x Phrag Ionifolium

Since orchids are not parasites, they are not relying on the tree they are attached to for nourishment. This gives us a lot of freedom to mount on many materials. The AOS magazine had an article about orchids being mounted on cement soaked foam slabs a couple of years ago, and I have seen them mounted on bricks and even one on a deer skull. The main thing is that there is a rough enough surface for the roots to attach.
