A sick dendrobium

When the plant first arrived, all the leaves were gone and there were just three sorry looking canes. I cleaned it up and repotted it in lava rock. There were no roots that looked healthy, but I left them on the plant to provide something to anchor it in the pot. After a few months of doing nothing, it started to grow kikis.

One characteristic of dendrobiums is that the form kikis easily. Healthy plants will start a kiki for no apparent reason. However, starting 5 kikis combined with no new growth at all, told me that it was time to give up on this plant.

The good news is that each of the kikis could potentially be a new plant. I decided to keep it all one group and mount it. continued
